When should you review your estate plan?

When to update your estate plan

When circumstances in your life changes, your estate plan should be reviewed.  Tax law changes, moving to a new state, births, marriage, divorce or a death in the family are all occurrences that should prompt you to review your estate plan.  Regardless of any significant changes in your life, most attorneys will recommend that you review your estate plan every 3 – 5 years.  Estate planning attorneys keep up to date on changes in law and will review with you any important changes that may have occurred that will affect your estate plan. Attorney Jason Lee discusses when you should review your estate plan in this interview on KDUZ 1260 AM’s show “Legal Update.”
